Version 6.8, May 1999 56,000+ One year

CVSA is the most comprehensive and thorough C compiler conformance test suite available worldwide. Introduced in 1984, it was originally based on the first edition of The C Programming Language by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie, of AT&T Bell Laboratories. CVSA now covers the original C language, and all of the ISO/IEC C Standard, including the most recent changes for C9X.  CVSA also includes all of the tests contained in ACVS. With over 56,000 test cases, in 40+ Mbytes of code, CVSA provides conformance testing for the following standards/publications.
1. International Standard for Programming Language-C, ISO/IEC 9899:1990
2. ISO C Standard: Technical Corrigenda 1 & 2.
3. ISO C Standard, Amendment 1: 1995 (which added multibyte and wide character extensions to the C language)
4. New features being added to the C language by the ISO C Standards Committee, commonly referred to as C9X.
5. The original C language bible: The C Programming Language by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie.

Conformance testing programs officially awarding a Certificate of Validation for the first three standards named above (i.e., the current ISO-C Standard) are available from Perennial
